3/17/10

This is one of my earliest stabs at making a game. Looking back, I see I learned a lot about programming through this experience. If you are curious to see some of my first works, click on the links above.

9/9/07

Because of the start of school, I have been somewhat busy lately. But I have continued to develop the shooting upgrade system.

9/2/07

I added signs, doors, and health upgrades. Go to the adventure page to see.

9/1/07

I've received SO many "complaints" that when Sput falls off the edge, he falls forever. I decided to fix this problem, just to make you all happy. ;) Check the adventure page to see how Sput now can fall to his doom.

8/30/07

Sput now can upgrade his gun; more upgrades will come soon. I posted the latest preview in the adventure section. See if you can find where the upgrade is. :D

8/29/07

Sput can climb ladders. Hooray.

8/27/07

Sput swims now! And I also programmed a new flying enemy, hevifly. If you go to the adventure page, I have posted the newest preview of the game.

8/25/07

I'm currently "on vacation" at the beach this week, so I may may not work on Sput's Adventure as much during this time.

8/22/07

I developed the health system for Sput's Adventure. Touching an enemy results in loosing health, but if you defeat an enemy, you gain health. If you loose all of your health, you loose. I also added a feature which lets Sput fly up slightly each time he shoots down.

8/21/07 (PM)

I'm making sound effects and/or music for the gameplay.

8/21/07

I just thought of a wonderful way to speed up the game-play. Some of you may have noticed that the game preview was rather lagged. I fixed this problem, so now the game plays MUCH faster. I added instructions, too.

8/20/07

Hooray! The opening scene is done! Go to the adventure page to see it, along with a small sample of game-play.

8/19/07

The opening scene is more than halfway done. The reason it's taking so long is that I have to make subtitles for both English and the Retroverse language, and sync up the movie to follow the speech. I am also thinking about what each level of the game will be like.

8/14/07

I am still working on the opening movie. I've been putting a lot of effort into it, so it's going to look very good! I shall continue working on it until it's done; then I'll begin the game. I'll post a small preview, too.

8/11/07

I am currently creating the opening scene.

8/9/07

Flash came! Unfortunately, I have already started work on the game at a Flash day program, and I haven't put it on my email yet, so I can't work on it today. So far I have finished the physics engine for Sput, the camera scrolling, and I have programmed some of the bullet firing.

8/5/07

The Retroverse language is finished, except for character names, which will be added upon the creation of Sput's Adventure. I have put the language in the Adventure page, which explains the plot of the new game. Currently I am waiting to receive Flash developer in the mail. When it arrives, I shall begin work on the game.

8/4/07

Welcome to the Retroverse blog! I shall post information about my work on current projects.

Currently I am working on the Retroverse language, which will be used in games and movies in the future. The language similar to Morse code, except sequences of tones determine words instead of letters. When the language is done, I shall post it on the site.

I am also planning for a new game, Sput's Adventure. I have designed various enemies, characters, and formulated a plot line. You can find more information about the game at the adventure page.
