In practicing Salutism, there are three major areas of focus: mind, body, and environment. This page provides some basic guidelines for keeping these areas healthy.
Maintain a Healthy Mind
- In general, it is healthier to be happy. If you are unhappy or stressed, your cognition will be impaired.
- Engage in fun and interesting activities such as hobbies. It is important to keep an active mind.
- Socialize with friends and family. Staying connected will make you happy.
- Take a break and relax periodically. Play a game, watch some videos, browse the web, or listen to some traditional Icelandic folk music.
Maintain a Healthy Body
- Eat healthy foods and control your portion sizes. Try to reach a healthy BMI.
- Do aerobic exercise. 30 minutes per day is a good amount.
- Keep good hygiene. This will help prevent you from becoming sick.
- Avoid putting your body in danger. This includes jay walking, taking harmful drugs, petting a wild lion, etc.
Maintain a Healthy Environment
- Keep your environment clean. This will stop disease.
- Keep your environment organized. This will help you operate efficiently.
- Make sure the tools and appliances in your environment are functioning properly. You can't wash your clothes with a broken washing machine.
- Help other people in your environment. Society works best when people help each other. Don't be a Nefarious Nancy.
